Four against one
Police arrested four teens who they say threatened a 51-year-old guy and tried to steal his money on Coney Island Avenue on May 27.
The four suspects — ages 15, 15, 17, and 18 — approached the guy near Kings Highway at 11:40 pm and demanded money from him, police said. The teens shouted “Give me your money!” and threatened to hurt him, according to the police report.
One of the suspects scratched the guy’s arm, but all four teens ran away on foot with no money, police said.
While he was sleeping
A filcher stole jewelry from a guy’s E. 17th Street home on May 24 while he was sleeping, police said.
The 56-year-old man told police he returned to his home near Avenue R from work at 1:30 pm and went to bed. When he woke up at midnight, he noticed a yellow gold bracelet, necklaces, yellow gold rings, diamond rings, and a watch were missing from a table in his closet, police noted.
There was no forced entry and a window by the fire escape was left open, according to authorities.
Almost got away with it
Police cuffed a 39-year-old man who they say broke into a guy’s W. Seventh Street home on May 24 and stole a bunch of technical equipment.
The guy told police he saw the suspect enter his home at 10 am and remove installation parts, compound, and an emergency exit light. The suspect fled with the goods, but the guy saw him in the same area four days later and called police, according to authorities.
