Police: Would-be phone thief stopped by good Samaritan

A good Samaritan managed to stop a cellphone thief from leaving the Jay Street-Metrotech Station with his stolen smartphone on Aug. 15, police said.

The victim was riding a Court Street-bound R train at 9:15 am when the phone-snatcher took the cell from her hands.
