The polls in Brooklyn are officially closed on Election Day.

Voting sites across the borough have closed Tuesday, June 22 as of 9 pm, marking the end of the primary elections. According to the city’s Board of Elections, approximately 65,516 Brooklyn residents participated in early voting. which took place from June 12 to June 20, representing about 34 percent of all the early votes cast in New York City.

Brooklyn also had third-most absentee ballots requested of the five boroughs, with more than 57,000 requested and more than 21,000 completed ahead of Tuesday, according to the BOE.

In-person voter turnout on Tuesday seemed slow but steady in polling sites across the borough.

Although official results won’t be finalized until at least July 12, below you will find the preliminary results from the city’s Board of Elections for Brooklyn borough president and local City Council races as they become available.

The preliminary vote totals represent both the early vote and ballots cast on Primary Day. These results reflect the numbers reported at 11:30 am Wednesday. None of the results are expected to be finalized Tuesday, as the BOE has yet to count tens of thousands of mailed or delivered absentee ballots.
