The Polytechnic Institute of NYU held its New Student Convocation, an historic occasion as the school welcomed the first class of NYU-Poly students since the two institutions merged in June 2008.
Alumni and friends of the former Polytechnic University were on hand at Six MetroTech Center for the momentous celebration, including NASA Astronaut Charles Camarda, class of ’74, a crew member on the historic mission of the space shuttle Columbia; Christopher Clinton, student council president; Jerry M. Hultin, president of NYU-Poly; and Carmine Masucci, class of ’56.
Camarda will be engineer in residence at NYU-Poly for the academic year.
