Pow-wow for Dems – Fundraiser at Junior’s

It was a veritable who’s who of Brooklyn politics, as Democrats gathered at Junior’s Restaurant (386 Flatbush Ext.) Friday morning in downtown Brooklyn for an annual Democratic fundraiser hosted by 50th Assembly District leader and Seneca Club President Steve Cohn.

Cohn has hosted the low-key breakfast fundraiser for more than 25 years, which has traditionally attracted Democrats from across the borough, and even a few from Queens.

Comptroller Bill Thompson and Rep. Anthony Weiner, prospective mayoral candidates, crossed paths several times, greeting Reps. Nydia Velazquez, Ed Towns and Jerrold Nadler, Assemblymembers Joseph Lentol and Hakim Jeffries, State Senator Eric Adams, Councilmembers Letitia James, David Yassky, Eric Gioia, David Weprin, Domenic Recchia, Bill De Blasio, State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, and District Attorney Charles Hynes in the crowded diner. Borough President Marty Markowitz held court in a corner table near the window.
