Clean getaway
A pair of punks stole $1,200 worth of beauty supplies from a Myrtle Avenue pharmacy on Sept. 10, according to police.
The thieves entered the store between Ashland Place and Flatbush Avenue Extension at 5:23 pm and commenced stuffing the goods into laundry bags, cops said.
The crooks absconded with deodorant, Dove body wash, and other beauty supplies, store employees reported. The hygienic outlaws hopped into a gray Nissan Murano to make their getaway, police said.
Early-morning hot spot
Police arrested a man who they say stole a laptop from a woman while she was in Crispus Attucks Playground early on the morning of Sept. 10.
The 46-year-old victim said she was in the park near Classon Avenue and Fulton Street at 4:45 am when the accused came over and tried to grab a laptop out of her hand. She struggled, but the suspect got away, running on Classon Avenue towards Putnam Avenue, police said.
Cops arrested the 35-year-old near the park at 9:10 pm that day, according to a police report.
Cash stash seized
A burglar stole $750 in cash out of a Clinton Avenue apartment on Sept. 9, per cops.
The 56-year-old resident of the apartment between Myrtle and Willoughby avenues said he left the building at 10:50 pm and returned 15 minutes later to find the door unlocked and the window wide open.
He checked the apartment and found his cash was gone, police said.
Construction crooks
A pair of thieves filched tools and material from an under-construction Lafayette Avenue residence on Sept. 11, the authorities said.
The 46-year-old victim, who lives between Carlton Avenue and Adelphi Street, said he saw a couple of crooks cut the lock to his construction fence at 4:30 am. Then he saw the burglars trying to wheel a box of tools out of the fence before giving up and taking off through the backyard, according to the authorities.
They ultimately made off with copper pipes and fittings, power drills, and a bag containing hand tools, police said. Cops found bolt cutters and a glove at the scene, and the resident saw a sports utility vehicle speed away, officers stated.
Lens larceny
A prowler stole five expensive camera lenses from a film production truck parked on Vanderbilt Avenue overnight from Sept. 12 to Sept. 13, officers stated.
Employees of the company said they parked the vehicle at 9:11 pm between Fulton Street and Atlantic Avenue and returned at 6:30 the next morning.
The burglar busted out the front, driver’s-side window of the truck and fished out the lenses, according to NYPD officials. The Zeiss lenses were worth $36,000, police said.
Touch that dial
A burglar stole a man’s entertainment equipment from his parked car on Lafayette Avenue on Sept. 11, cops said.
The 62-year-old victim said he he locked up his ride between Washington and Waverly avenues at 12:30 am, and returned at 10:50 that morning to find his locks broken and his equipment removed.
The crook or crooks grabbed a sound mixer, a radio, a satellite radio, a Sony PlayStation, and some speakers, according to a police report.
Crime of fashion
An opportunist removed a Louis Vuitton bag containing a computer from an unlocked car parked on the corner of DeKalb Avenue and Adelphi Street on Sept. 10, the authorities reported.
The 33-year-old victim said he left the car unlocked at 2:09 pm and returned 20 minutes later to find the posh pouch pilfered.
Motorcycle hog
A bandit stole a man’s motorcycle from in front of his girlfriend’s Clinton Avenue apartment on Sept. 9, cops said.
The 34-year-old victim said he parked and covered the 1978 Yamaha between DeKalb and Willoughby avenues at 11 pm, and when he came out at 7 the next morning the bike and cover were gone.
Mis-taken identity
An incompetent parking attendant gave a man’s car to an impostor at a lot on DeKalb Avenue on Sept. 9, police recounted.
The 34-year-old owner of the 2004 Audi said he parked in the lot between Hudson Avenue and Ashland Place at 11:05 pm on Sept. 8.
The attendant handed the keys to the sly impersonator at 1:40 am on Sept. 9, according to a police report. The owner did not notice until 11:15 am on Sept. 13, the report says.
Hot wheels
Someone swiped another car that was parked on Saint Felix Street on Sept. 13, cops said.
The 30-year-old owner said she parked her 2007 Nissan between Fulton Street and DeKalb Avenue at 1 am, and when she returned at 1:30 that afternoon, it was nowhere to be found.
