90th Precinct

Southside–Williamsburg

Big wheels

A group of preteens jumped a 9-year-old and stole his bicycle on Walton Street on June 23, according to police.

The victim said he was between Throop and Harrison avenues at 5:35 pm when the group of eight kids attacked him. One of the youngsters, who was about 11 years old, jumped on the victim’s ride and pedalled away, cops stated.

Police later recovered the bicycle but not the under-aged culprits.

Potty, no humor

An opportunist stole a man’s wallet after he left it on a Kent Avenue gas station toilet on June 23, law enforcement officials said.

The 36-year-old victim, who worked at the station between Penn and Rutledge streets, recounted that he set his wallet on the top of the toilet tank at 7:30 am and forgot about it.

When he went back 25 minutes later, his wallet — holding his credit card, driver’s license, and $3,000 in cash — was gone.

Wrestlemania time

A robber strong-armed the cellphone out of a woman’s hand after asking her for the time on S. Third Street on June 23, police reported.

The victim stated that she was standing at the corner of Havemeyer Street at 5 pm when the galoot approached her.

“What time is it?” he purportedly asked, then wrenched the device away from her, according to cops.

Elder abuse

Cops cuffed a pair of young women who they say beat up an elderly man on Taylor Street on June 29.

The 79-year-old victim said he was standing near the corner of Bedford Avenue at 1:10 am when the accused ran up and punched him in the back of the head.

The man fell and banged up his left hand, police reported. Emergency services took the senior to hospital via ambulance, cops said. The 18-and 20-year-old women were arrested and charged with assault, officers stated.

Shopping for staples

Police arrested a man who they say beaned a bodega worker in the head with a stapler.

The 32-year-old victim stated that he was inside a bodega between Union Avenue and Lorimer Street at 12:30 am, when he got into an argument with the accused.

The suspect grabbed the stapler and threw it at the victim, cutting his face, according to police. The victim was taken to Woodhall Medical Center and the 27-year-old suspect was charged with assault.
