Pro Active Construction: one step ahead

It can be your worst nightmare or the best thing you’ve ever done.

We’re talking home improvement.

Every home owner knows that when we inevitably need to have work done in the house, it can be risky business. We’re investing money, time, and energy into a contractor, who has promised to make our homes beautiful. Yet, misunderstandings often occur. How can we make sure the results will meet our expectations?

Pro Active Construction Management (1294 East 19th Street, 718-677-9400) wants to earn your trust. Owner Steve Haddad says, “Customer service is very important.” That’s why his company is with you every step of the way, “speaking to customers in a language they understand and walking them through the project. Everything is very clear up front.”

As the name suggests, they take a “pro-active approach to projects,“ says Steve. “We’re always one step ahead.” This applies to both the planning stages as well as the building stages, he says. If you’re the type of person who wants to be involved in every aspect of the job, you will be. If you prefer to leave everything up to them, they’ll handle that type of responsibility, too. “We’re easy to deal with.”

One reason for this is that they are very well organized. They use state-of-the-art estimating and scheduling tools, making use of computer programs for all jobs and projects. This means all is accurate and clear, from the onset, and continues to be during the entire time they spend working for you. For example, payment schedules are built right into the contracts, so expectations about this are known from the get-go. “We get the work done, in the fastest amount of time, with the least amount of problems,” says Steve.

Among the many general constructions projects in which they are involved include re-modeling kitchens and bathrooms; creating additions and extensions to existing homes; as well as the actual creation of new homes and buildings. They do both indoor and outdoor work. “No job is too small or too large,” Steve says.

In addition to this type of work, they also provide “construction management” services. For example, the owners of buildings can hire them to handle all details of construction projects. Pro Active Construction Management will take care of bids, plans, architects, and sub-contractors, managing the entire operation, seeing that it all goes flawlessly. “We manage the whole project from A to Z,” says Steve.

This type of work is something with which Steve is very familiar, as before he opened his company, he spent 18 years as vice president of operations for a chain of stores. “I was responsible for getting new stores designed and built,” he says.

He then moved on to working with developers, performing actual construction work for five years, before branching out on his own. It’s all been a great learning process. Pro Active Construction Management opened just a few months ago, and Steve employs an in-house crew as well as an administrative staff.

To date, it’s been smooth sailing. “People tell me ‘good job’ all the time,” says Steve. “All of my customers have been very happy.” To prove it, they recommend friends and neighbors who have also employed Steve’s services.

All his customers sleep well at night, knowing that Pro Active Construction Management is licensed and insured. Customers are also re-assured when they learn that they can call anytime, seven days a week, says Steve. They know how to contact him for any emergencies that may arise.

Ready to start your next home improvement project? Pro Active Management Construction serves all five boroughs. “You won’t be disappointed if you call me,” assures Steve.
