Cops seek suspects behind Prospect Heights smoke shop robbery

Police are requesting the public’s assistance identifying the two suspects involved in a robbery at a Prospect Heights smoke shop.

At around 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, two unknown individuals entered the Prospect Beer and Mist smoke shop located at 591 Vanderbilt Ave., within in the confines of the 77th Precinct.

One of the individuals allegedly brandished a firearm at the store’s employee before removing about $1,100 and fleeing the store in an unknown direction. There were no reported injuries in relation to this crime.

Security camera footage released Monday show the two suspects covered nearly head to toe in jackets, hats and face masks.

According to Police Department data, the 77th Precinct, which serves the northern sections of Crown Heights in addition to a portion of Prospect Heights, has seen 40 reported robberies year-to-date as of March 31 — the same number of robberies reported as of this time last year.
