Some of Public School 255’s distinguished little learners were awarded with Student of the Month accolades for “serving as exemplars in their schoolwork, their thoughtfulness, and their kindness for others,” according to the school’s Project Arts Liaison, Miriam Rankin.
Ranging from Kindergarten through fifth grade, the brainy Brooklynitesdonned shiny sashes throughout the school day and were presented with Student of the Month pencils, so they may hand in more of the excellent work for which they were honored.
Rankin spearheaded the monthly initiative as a way of recognizing the young learners at PS 255, 1866 East 17th Street and Avenue R in the Homecrest section of Brooklyn.
