A distinguished few of the little learners at Public School 255’s Barbara Reing School were cited with Student of the Month honors for “serving as exemplars in their schoolwork, their thoughtfulness, and their kindness for others,” according to the school’s Project Arts Liaison, Miriam Rankin.
Ranging from Kindergarten through the fifth grade, the brilliant Brooklynites who received the awesome accolades earned the privilege of donning shiny school sashes throughout the school day and were presented with special Student of the Month pencils, so they may hand in more of the excellent work for which they were honored.
Rankin spearheaded the monthly Students of the Month initiative as a way of recognizing all the young learners at PS 255, 1866 East 17th Street and Avenue R in the Homecrest section of Brooklyn.
