Three beat

Three men pummeled a man on Clinton Street before mugging him early on April 11.

The hooligans stopped the victim, 31, at around 3:30 am and told him he was “on the wrong side of the street,” near the corner of Second Place. Next, they leveled him with a barrage of punches, leaving him with cuts on his nose and head.

The outnumbered man told police the thugs stole his wallet, containing $10 and five “miscellaneous” CDs.

Troubled teen

Police nabbed a 15-year-old for his part in an armed robbery of a Van Brunt Street grocery on April 13.

According to the victim, 57, three men in black masks shoved him into the Liberty Heights Finest Deli at the corner of Coffey Street as he was opening for business at 2:55 am. One of the crooks bashed him in the face with a gun, causing injuries to his mouth, before the group took $150 and fled.
