Acting out
Immature vandals wreaked havoc inside a Saint Edwards Street public school over the weekend of Sept. 19, damaging a bunch of electronics and stealing other equipment, the authorities said.
School personnel reported that the building between Auburn Place and Myrtle Avenue was locked up at 3:30 pm on Sept. 19, and was not opened again until 7:30 am on Sept. 22, when workers discovered the crime.
The time-out-deserving rapscallions wrecked computer keyboards in five classrooms, destroyed the nurse’s computer by pouring water on it, and wrote on a dry erase board with a permanent marker, according to a police report. Then the punks grabbed a laptop, a network switch, and some computer accessories before fleeing, the report says.
Stuffed up
Cops cuffed two women who they said tried to steal a bunch of Mucinex from a Myrtle Avenue pharmacy on Sept. 23.
A 20-year-old employee at the store between Ashland and Fleet places said he saw the two suspects come in at 5 pm and start taking the decongestant drugs.
When the employee confronted the women, ages 18 and 21, the older woman bit him on the hand and punched him in the face while the younger lady tried to make a run for it with the merchandise, according to cops.
Officers showed up and arrested the suspects and found $379 worth of Mucinex and some exfoliant on them, NYPD officials stated.
Ring the alarm
A burglar spooked a slumbering woman as he reached into her Clifton Place apartment through a window on Sept. 22, waking her and stealing her laptop, police reported.
The 34-year-old resident of the building between Grand and Classon avenues said she was sleeping on her couch at 12:26 am when she was awoken by the sound of her window screen opening.
She screamed as she saw the burglar reach in through the window and grab her computer off a desk near the portal, cops said.
“Shut up, b—-,” the degenerate supposedly hissed before vanishing.
Window watch
Cops reported three other burglaries in the precinct this week in which a prowler crept through a window, but no one was home in these. Here are the details:
• A burglar pushed in an air conditioning unit in the back of a Lefferts Place apartment on Sept. 24 and grabbed a bundle of electronics, cops said.
The 32-year-old victim said she left her apartment, which is also between Grand and Classon avenues, at 9:10 am and returned at 7:30 that night to find her front door partially open. Once inside she discovered that her belongings had been strewn around the bedroom and that her laptop and electronic tablet were missing, police said.
• The next day, a crook hit a Lafayette Avenue building, and made off with a laptop and a portable hard drive, the authorities reported.
The 28-year-old victim recounted that she left her apartment, on Lafayette between Cumberland and S. Oxford streets, at 9 am, and when she came home at 10:30 pm the front door was wide open. Once inside she noticed the items gone and saw that her front window was also wide open and that the screen had been sliced, law enforcement officials said.
• A bandit snagged another computer inside a Vanderbilt Avenue apartment sometime between Sept. 26. and 27, per the NYPD.
The 33-year-old victim said that she left her place between Myrtle and Park avenues at 8 am on Sept. 26 and did not return until 1 pm the next day.
When she came in, she noticed the kitchen window ajar, and her desktop computer nowhere to be found, police said.
Smash and grab
A reckless miscreant broke into a Greene Avenue restaurant through the window on Sept. 22 and stole the cash register, according to the authorities.
An employee at the eatery between Waverly and Clinton avenues locked up the place at 1 am and returned at 7:20 that same morning to find the window busted and the register taken, NYPD officials stated.
Cops found the register up the street, on the corner of Waverly and Greene, according to a police report. The owners said the register had contained $1,300, officers recounted.
Little dig
A pickpocket struck aboard a G train on Sept. 25 — grabbing a guy’s wallet with $400 inside, officers said.
The 26-year-old victim said that he was riding a Queens-bound Brooklyn local train at 6:55 pm, and when the train left the Fulton Street stop a fellow passenger jostled him more than once.
When he got off at Clinton-Washington, near the corner of Lafayette and Washington avenues, he noticed that his pocket had been picked, police said.
Two-by-floor
A trio of toughs beat a man unconscious with a piece of wood on Ashland Place on Sept. 25, then took his wallet, according to the authorities.
The 33-year-old victim said he was walking between Willoughby Street and DeKalb Avenue at 9 pm when a group of three ne’er-do-wells approached.
One of the brutes bashed the man in the face with a piece of wood without saying a word, knocking him out, law enforcement officials said.
When the guy woke up his billfold had been taken, cops said. He told police it contained $95 and his identification.
Handset
Cops arrested a teen who they say punched a younger teen in the face and stole her phone on Clinton Avenue on Sept. 26, according to a police report.
The 13-year-old victim said she was talking to some friends on Myrtle and Willoughby avenues at 5:10 pm when the 18-year-old suspect came over and socked her in the head.
The accused then grabbed the device and scrammed, the report states.
Cops picked him up on Sept. 30 at 8:30 am, they said.
No salvation
Some cold crooks took a bunch of donated shoes and jewelry from a Salvation Army storage unit on Quincy Street sometime between Sept. 20 and 22, cops said.
A worker for the charity retailer reported that the unit in a building between Downing Street and Classon Avenue got closed up at 4:30 pm on Sept. 20, at 7 am, two days later, the items were discovered gone.
The worker also recounted that the doors to the unit and to the building were not locked, and that someone had turned off the security system.
