The Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (CNR) named Alisa Huggins the winner of the statewide “Caring Award” for her exemplary work as a community health nurse.
Huggins specializes in home care for chronically ill individuals, including those diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. She was recognized for her dedication and her unique approaches to improving her patients’ quality of life through home care.
“HCA is especially honored to recognize Alisa’s unparalleled commitment to her patients’ health needs, and to the strength of the nursing profession as a whole,” said HCA President Joanne Cunningham.
“Alisa is an excellent role model to other people working in home care,” said Cecily Baker, the vice president of home care for the Beth Abraham Family of Health Services.
Her creativity, compassion and positive attitude continue to demonstrate the critical role nurses play in the lives of their patients, their families, their doctors and the community at large.”
