A subway-savvy thief stole a woman’s iPhone straight from her hands as she sat on the R-train on July 9.
The victim, 33, told police that she was listening to music on multi-purpose device at around 9:30 pm when the train stopped at the 77th Street station. The thug quickly snatched the phone and ran off the train as the doors closed.
Turn up the heat
A thief stole the cash register from the Alaskan Sun Tans on Gelston Avenue on July 12.
The thug used a rock to break the side window and swipe the register at the tanning emporium near 86th Street at around 2 am. The thug got away with $80 — enough to keep him golden bronze for a few weeks.
Chinatown
A purse-snatcher turned one woman’s tranquil evening into a nightmare when he snatched her purse at Lai Yuen Restruant on Fourth Avenue on July 12.
The victim told police she was sitting at the bar in the restaurant, which is at 101st Street, at around 10:15 pm, when the perp entered and took her bag off the back of her chain.
He then used her debit card to withdraw $1,500.
Hotel hell
A thief gave a visitor from Florida a bad taste of New York when he snatched her luggage straight from her Fourth Avenue hotel room on July 12.
The victim — a 53-year-old resident of Tampa Bay — left her room in the Best Western, which is between 83rd and 84th streets, at around 10 am and returned six hours later to find her purse and luggage missing.
Later in the night, a hotel staffer found the luggage, minus a $500 bracelet and a $2,000 wedding band.
Unholy crime!
A group of hell-bound thugs broke into St. Anselm’s Church on July 10 — but ran in fear (of God himself?) when the alarm went off.
Four hoodlums entered the church’s courtyard — covering their faces with their shirts, cops said — and scaled a wall to the gynasium window, which they pushed open.
But that move triggered the alarm — and their flight from wrath.
Hungry thieves
A marauder robbed a delivery man at a 73th Street home on July 9.
The delivery man was exiting his car in front of the home, which is between Colonial and Narrows avenues, at 9:35 pm when a knife-wielding burglar approached and ordered him to give up the cash.
The victim, 47, told police that the perp threw him to the ground and took $400 from his pocket before fleeing.
