The 11th Annual Race Against Violence 5k Run/Walk will be held at John Paul Jones Park, 101st Street and Fourth Avenue in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, October 18.
The run/walk begins at 10 a.m. Pre-registration by mail or online is $15 and registration on the day of the event is $20. The special pre-registration rate for Brooklyn Road Runners Club membersis $12.
The first 150 registrants will receive a t-shirt and gift bag including Luna Bar, Pirate’s Booty Chips and Runner’s World Magazine.
Registration and check-in begins at 8:45 a.m. anda pre-event ceremony will kick off at 9:45 a.m.
The post-event festival will include a DJ, face painting, costumed characters from Tommy’s Costume Characters, a special performance by Encypher, and a safety & self defense class.
