Regina brings you ‘Il Travatore’

Di quella pira, Stride la vampa, Tacea la notte, Il balen,” and the Anvil Chorus are just some of the great arias and ensembles you will hear when you attend Regina Opera Company’s production of Verdi’s “Il Trovatore,” to be presented May 31-June 1, 7-8.

The opera is presented in Regina Hall, corner of 65th Street and 12th Avenue in Brooklyn. Maestro Gregory Ortega conducts the 32-piece orchestra for this production, which is staged by Linda Lehr, and sung in Italian with English supertitles.

Tenors Paul Pitts and Adam Russell portray Manrico, the Troubador; sopranos Deborah Longino and Christina Rohm sing the role of Leonora, who sacrifices all for the love of Manrico; baritones Charles Sanford & Peter Hakjoon Kim will sing the role of the Count De Luna, Manrico’s enemy and rival for the hand of Leonora; basso Roland Burks will be heard as Ferrando, Captain of the Guard for De Luna’s army.
