Rental rage
A thug attacked a Hertz rental car on May 22 during a road rage incident on Avenue R.
The 56-year-old who rented the 2011 Chevrolet Impala told police that he was motoring between E. 13th and E. 14th streets at 11:05 am when he got into an argument with the other driver.
Enraged, the unidentified man got out of his car, ran over to the rental, and ripped off the side view mirror.
Club craziness
A 31-year-old was hospitalized on May 22 following a near-riot inside Horus on Kings Highway.
A 3:30 am fight inside the eatery, which is between E. Sixth and E. Seventh streets, had just spilled out onto the street when the victim was attacked — and left to suffer a smattering of cuts and bruises.
Blocked in driveway
A thief swiped the tires off of a 2010 Nissan on May 18 — while the car sat in an E. Third Street woman’s driveway.
The 79-year-old owner of the car said she left it parked in her driveway, which is between Quentin Road and Avenue R, at 8 pm. When she stepped out of her home to use the car at 2:30 pm the next afternoon, she found it on blocks, she told police.
Spa swipe
A thief grabbed a woman’s Louis Vittoun purse on May 20 as the victim visited the U Spa on Avenue U.
The victim told police she put her bag down on a table inside the salon, which is near E. 18th Street, as she got a manicure at 3:50 pm.
The thief swiped the bag from the table as the victim got her nails done.
Car raid
A thief snuck into a 2011 Honda parked on Avenue S on May 21, taking $200 and a bank card.
The owner of the car told police that she left the vehicle parked between E. 26th and E. 27th streets at 9:30 pm — but admits that she may have left the door unlocked.
When she returned to her car at 6:30 am, all of her items were strewn around the cabin, she said.
