Brutal hold up
A hooded mugger decked a woman in the face for her Gucci purse and other goods on Eighth Avenue on Jan. 13.
The 29-year-old victim told cops that she was near 13th Street at 12:25 pm when the tattooed perp punched her, causing her lip to spilt open, and pulled her hair.
The suspect made off with the victim’s handbag, two dresses, and a car key.
Big heist
A band of perps jacked jewelry from a woman’s Union Street apartment on Jan. 11.
The 30-year-old victim told police that the robbers broke into the house between Fourth and Fifth avenues through a rear window sometime between 8:30 am and 9 pm.
The crooks made off with a 24-karat Patek Philippe wristwatch, a pair of gold Tiffany earrings, an emerald ring, and a green-quartz ring.
A neighbor who lives in the apartment one floor below the burglarized abode, told cops that he heard movement upstairs from around 6:45 to 7 pm.
Chips robbery
Cops arrested a hungry Frito-Lay truck driver who they say for stole bags of Tostitos chips out of his delivery truck parked on Flatbush Avenue on Jan. 9.
The delivery man entered the truck parked near Sterling Place at 3:25 pm and took out two boxes containing $55 worth of the bite-size tortilla chips, said police.
He then entered a nearby Flatbush Avenue storefront and told the shop’s owner to store the boxes for him, according to cops.
Scheme team
A sales employee at a Flatbush Avenue department store processed 21 fraudulent credit and debit card transactions for a customer without obtaining a customer signature sometime between Oct. 11 and Oct. 29, police reported on Jan. 8.
Cops say the employee’s actions at the store near Atlantic Avenue cost the business nearly $28,000. The employee later informed his department that he was working with the unknown customer.
Drink and drive?
A thief swiped parts and personal belongings from a man’s car parked on 11th Street sometime over night on Jan. 11.
The 27-year-old victim told police that he parked his white BMW between Second and Third avenues at 8 pm and went to a nearby pub. After getting sloshed at the bar the man decided to leave his ride parked and take a cab home.
When he returned to his car at 11 am the next day, he noticed that the vehicle’s center console, amplifier speaker, several CDs and about $400 in cash were all missing.
Gucci robber
A sneaky bandit stole high-end, name-brand goods from a chain store on Atlantic Avenue on Jan. 10.
Surveillance footage showed the perp walk into the store near Atlantic Avenue at 4:13 pm, remove a Gucci tote bag, Prada tote bag, Gucci satchel, and an additional Gucci item from the shelf, put the goods in a shopping cart, and saunter into the bathroom.
The thief somehow got past store employees and made off with the pricey merchandise 45 minutes later.
Unlucky bar-goer
An opportunist thief made off with a woman’s wallet at a bar on Union Street on Jan. 13.
The 23-year-old victim told cops that she left the bar between Fifth and Sixth avenues at 3:30 am and 20 minutes later, realized that she left her green wallet, holding her debit card and cash, at the bar.
The perp got $30 in cash and bought a 30-day MetroCard for $104 with the victim’s debit card, police said.
Car break-in
A bandit stole a bunch of wares, including diabetes medication, from a woman’s unlocked car parked in an Atlantic Avenue lot on Jan. 13.
The 46-year-old victim told police that she parked her black Dodge in the lot near Flatbush Avenue at 1:30 pm and when she returned 30 minutes later her credit cards, check book, diabetes medication, $140 in cash, the key to additional car, her handbag, and a wedding and engagement ring set were all missing.
Sneaky
A crook looted a man’s 12th Street apartment on Jan. 7.
The 31-year-old victim told police that he left his apartment between Fourth and Fifth avenues at 8:20 am to head to work. When he returned home nearly 12 hours later, his bedroom drawers were open and $500 in cash was missing, along with two iPods, an American Express gift card, 350 Euros, and a jewelry box holding 17 different pieces.
The victim told cops that all of his doors and windows were locked when he returned — and that multiple friends and family members have keys to the apartment.
Quickie swipe
Someone snagged a man’s backpack from inside his work van that was parked in the lot of a Second Avenue home improvement store on Jan. 8.
The 43-year-old victim told cops that he left his bag on the front passenger’s seat of his white Ford in the lot between 10th and 12th streets at 9 am. When he ran into the store to use the bathroom he made sure to lock all of the doors, but left the front passenger-side window slightly open.
He returned to his ride 20 minutes later and found the window rolled all the way down and his bag holding his credit cards and driver’s license gone.
