Police have released a sketch and a video of the man they say impersonated a police officer in order to commit two armed robberies in Sheepshead Bay in October.
Authorities say the suspect approached his first victim — a 29-year-old food delivery man who was riding a bicycle — on Brown Street near Voorhies Avenue at 7:10 pm on Oct. 1. Cops say the perp pulled out a silver revolver and demanded to see the delivery man’s identification card, and when the victim pulled out his wallet, the suspect snatched it.
Cops say the perp then fled in white Chrysler Sebring with a getaway driver.
Police say the perp also duped a senior citizen on Avenue V near Bragg Street on Oct. 3. The suspect allegedly cornered a 69-year-old near an elevator and cops say he whipped out a silver revolver at 6:45 pm. The suspect stated he was an officer and asked the victim for his identification card, according to authorities, who say that the perp fled when a resident confronted him.
Police said the suspect is 25-to-35 years old, stands 5-foot-10, and is 160 pounds.
