A car flipped over on the Belt Parkway on March 30, sending two people to the hospital and causing traffic to back up for hours.
The 40-year-old driver of a sports utility vehicle was in the middle lane heading towards the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge near Bay Parkway at about 1 pm when he claims another car cut him off, causing him to lose control and slam into the guardrail, then flip over, according to authorities. But the driver was likely speeding, police said.
Emergency responders transported the driver and his 33-year-old passenger to Lutheran Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
