Members of the NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit (ESU) were called to Nevins Street near Schermerhorn Street last week, where they threw out a net to catch a man (bottom) threatening to leap from the window of his high-rise. The officers went to the roof and tossed a net over the top-floor window in order to snag the man if he made good on his threats. After a brief standoff, the man exited the apartment through the front door and was taken to an area hospital for observation.
