School workshops for BK parents

Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz presents the Brooklyn Parents Academy, which will be holding two workshops at Brooklyn Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon Street between Court & Adams streets.

“The New Middle School Success Initiative” and “Advocating for Your Child with Special Needs” will be the topics discussed in the first workshop, October 16, and “Helping Your Child Succeed in Reading and Math” and “Recognizing and Avoiding Gang Violence and Bullying” will be covered in the second workshop, October 23.

Both meetings begin at 6 p.m., and refreshments for these two workshops will be served.

MetroCards, and translation services provided by The New York City Department of Education’s Office of Family Engagement and Advocacy, will also be made available.
