Search for autistic man

Police are turning to Brooklynites everywhere in their search for an autistic Bay Ridge resident missing since October 8.

Officials said that 37-year-old Richard He, a resident of Bay Ridge, was last seen at 11 a.m. that Wednesday.

Someone fitting He’s description was found near Manhattan’s South Ferry on October 16, but when officers arrived, he was nowhere to be found, explained members of State Senator Marty Golden’s office, who is assisting in the search

It’s believed that He’s condition may play a factor in his prolonged disappearance and his inability to return home, although he has lived in New York City for over 20 years.

Family members said that He speaks both English and Chinese. He may also be seen with a newspaper under his arm, since he has a habit of reading a paper each and every day.

Anyone with information regarding He’s whereabouts is urged to contact either the NYPD at (800) 577-TIPS or his brother at (917) 559-8697.
