Cardiovascular disease kills approximately 450,000 women each year. Lutheran HealthCare recommends the following four simple guidelines for a healthy heart: exercise daily; develop good eating habits; avoid tobacco, drugs and excessive alcohol; and take advantage of preventative screenings to detect problems early.
