An elderly woman was killed on Wednesday morning when an ambulance driver rammed into her in Homecrest, police said.
Horrified witnesses told responding officers that the 75-year-old was crossing E. 15th Street at Avenue S at 12:40 pm when the private ambulance struck her.
Emergency responders rushed the victim to New York Community Hospital on Kings Highway, where she died. Nothing was left at the scene, save for the woman’s shoes, which flew off her upon impact, and a mangled shopping cart, witnesses said.
Cops did not identify the woman as they continued to track down family members.
The ambulance driver remained at the scene, but wasn’t arrested after passing a Breathalyzer test, police sources said.
