A heartless robber stole an engagement ring from an 86th Street jewelry store on Aug. 4, officers stated.
The rapscallion entered the shop between Fourth and Fifth Avenues in Bay Ridge at 4:20 pm and asked to check out its selection, but when he had his hands on a diamond ring valued at $6,669, he fled, police said.
Cat burglar licked
Police arrested a man who they say climbed through a fourth-floor fire escape window at a Bay Ridge Parkway apartment and stole a laptop computer on Aug. 7.
The suspect scaled the building, which sits between Ridge Boulevard and Third Avenue, and hopped through a window sometime between 11:58 am and 12:16 pm, police said. He grabbed the computer, but the resident — who knew the accused — confronted him, and he fled, according to law enforcement officials.
Plainclothes officers from the 68th Precinct saw the man fleeing the building and apprehended him after a short chase, police said.
Brazen break-in
A crook broke into the front window of Ridge Boulevard home and stole thousands of dollars in jewelry sometime between Aug. 1 and 5, cops said.
The burglar entered the house, which sits between 91st and 92nd streets, through a second-floor front window sometime between 3 pm on Aug. 1 and 8 pm on Aug. 5 and made off with an estimated $2,750 in miscellaneous jewelry, according to the authorities.
Your money or my knife
A trio of goons robbed a guy at knifepoint on the corner of Third Avenue and 68th Street on Aug. 7, a report states.
The victim was riding a bicycle at the intersection at 9:20 pm when the bandits ran up and put a knife to his throat, police recounted.
One of the assailants reached into the victim’s pocket and took an iPhone and his wallet before the three fled in a sedan, according to law enforcement officials.
