A 20-year-old college student died last week after being shot in the back on Lenox Road near Flatbush Avenue.
Cops from the 70th Precinct were called to the block at 9:50 p.m. on August 19 after Patrick Nicolas, a resident of Clarkson Avenue, was found with a gunshot to his lower back %u2013 just around the corner from his home.
EMS rushed him to Kings County Hospital where he died of his injuries a short time later, officials said.
Friends said that Nicolas, who was enrolled in Kingsborough Community College, was returning home from his job at the Gap in Kings Plaza when he was shot.
Grieving family members told reporters that the high school football player and sometime rapper who went by the stage name “Pulla Pat” had made it a point to stay away from guns and neighborhood gangs.
As of this writing, the gunman responsible for the killing remained at large.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is being asked to come forward.

Busted for robbery
A 24-year-old was arrested for a gunpoint robbery on Nostrand Avenue near Clarendon Road.
Detectives from the 67th Precinct said that Terell Fusell and two other men allegedly pulled a gun on their victim near the corner at 11 p.m. on July 3 and ordered him to fork over the money in his pocket.
The suspects ran off with the victim’s cash, leaving him unharmed, police alleged.
After a nearly two-month investigation, cops caught up with Fussell this week, charging him with robbery in the first degree, grand larceny, menacing, petit larceny, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.
His two accomplices remained at large as this paper went to press.
Fiendish flight
Cops apprehended a 27-year-old man on East 28th Street last week on charges that he had pushed another man down a set of concrete steps.
The victim told police that he was arguing with Roy Barnwell inside the apartment building at 1:25 a.m. on August 23 when the suspect allegedly made his move.
The victim fell down a few steps, suffering cuts and scratches to his elbow, forearm, right knee and left foot, officials said.
Responding officers took Barnwell into custody without incident, charging him with assault, attempted assault, menacing and harassment.
Grocery goon
A skirmish in a Flatbush Avenue market near the Flatbush/Midwood Junction ended with a storekeeper pulling a knife on a customer, cops from the 70th Precinct said this week.
Saad Yafai, a 25-year-old employee at Yafai Deli and Grocery at 1501 Flatbush Avenue, was charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon after he allegedly ran toward a customer with a knife in his hands during an argument inside the store at 7 p.m. on August 23.
The customer called police, who took Yafai into custody without incident.
No injuries were reported.
Quick strip
An car thief was arrested in Flatlands last week after he and two accomplices tried to abandon the husk of a 2002 Acura that they had allegedly stolen from Flatbush and stripped just 12 hours before, police alleged.
Officials alleged that Dennis Cortez, 20, and his crew swiped the vehicle from East 29th Street near Farragut Road sometime after 7:10 a.m. on August 21.
Just after 8 p.m. that evening, cops from the 63rd Precinct were on patrol when they saw Cortez and two men allegedly exit the same Acura on East 35th Street near Avenue J %u2013 although the vehicle was apparently not in the same condition.
Police said that several parts were missing from the vehicle including the back lights, the front lights, the bumper and front plates.
Upon further inspection, the inside lining of both doors had also been removed, officials said.
Cortez, who reportedly had a wrench in his pocket, was taken into custody and charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, possession of burglar’s tools, unauthorized use of a vehicle and auto stripping.
Police said that one of his accomplices was apprehended a short time later, but the man’s name had not been released as this paper went to press.
The third suspect was still at large.
Lewd looter sought
Talk about double trouble: not only is this guy wanted for exposing himself, he’s wanted for robbing a woman of her cell phone.
Police outlined the misdeeds of the still unidentified thief recently as they announced their continued search for the transit terror.
Officials said that the suspect, described as a black male in his mid-teens to early 20s with a medium build, was on a southbound D train rumbling to the 36th Street station at 6:20 a.m. on July 20 when he sat next to a female straphanger, exposed himself and started to masturbate.
The suspect fled the train at the next stop, but resurfaced on another line %u2013 a northbound F train heading toward 18th Avenue and McDonald Avenue.
He was riding the train at 12:40 p.m. when he swiped another straphanger’s cell phone and disembarked at 18th Avenue.
Anyone with information regarding this man’s whereabouts is urged to come forward.
