Gang battered
Six degenerates attacked a man with a baseball bat on Bay Ridge Parkway on Sept. 21, according to police.
The victim sustained several injuries in the 5 am attack at New Utrecht Avenue and went to the hospital on his own, said investigator, who are reviewing footage from surveillance cameras in the area to search for the assailants.
Sour notes
A swindler cheated an elderly man out of $1,700 when he called him at his Bay 19th Street home on Sept. 20 and told him that his phone had been hacked and he needed to send the lout 17 iTunes gift cards valued at $100 each so he could fix it. The perp made the call to the man’s home between Benson Avenue and 86th Street at around 5 pm. The victim provided the fraudster with the iTunes cards numbers over the phone and never heard from him again, according to a police report.
Under the fence
A criminal slithered under the gate of an eatery on New Utrecht Avenue on Sept. 18 before entering the unlocked front door and stealing $150 in cash, police said.
The no-goodnik made the move to steal cash from the establishment near 68th Street just after 3:30 am, according to police. Afterwards, the perp fled on foot. Police are reviewing surveillance cameras in the area.
Crash and burn
Police arrested a man who stole a 2002 Toyota Sienna from its 17th Avenue parking spot on Sept. 20 and got into an accident in the purloined vehicle shortly thereafter.
The man took the car from the corner of 72nd Street around 10 pm. But before long, police nabbed the thief after he got into a crash on 18th Avenue at 55th Street.
