Sixth Annual Senior Fair on tap – Event to provide elderly with resources and helpful information

State Senator Martin J. Golden, chairman of the New York State Senate Aging Committee, will be hosting his Sixth Annual Senior Fair, May 23 from 12-3 p.m., to offer local seniors and their families an opportunity to learn of the services available to assist them with their property taxes, their prescription drug coverage, their personal safety, and their health.

The fair will be held at St. Columba’s Auditorium, 2245 Kimball Street, and will feature information and assistance offered by various city agencies including the New York City Depart-ment for the Aging, the New York City Department of Environmenal Protec-tion, the Department of Sanitation, the New York City Department of Health, the New York City Police Department and the EPIC Program among other agencies.

Also joining Senator Golden at the Senior Fair will be the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Metropolitan Transit Authority, the Metro Card Mobiles Sales Outreach Center, District Attorney Charles Hynes, the Family Justice Center, the Medicare Rights Center, the Taxi and Limousine Commission, and the Brooklyn Public Library.

Free blood pressure screenings will also be available, and lunch will be served.
