Slash and burn

Machete attack!

A mob of miscreants attacked a group of teens in a Southside park on April 29, slashing one victim with a machete.

The group of derelicts descended on the victims, who were playing at the corner of Rodney and South Fifth streets, at around 5:30 pm.

In the midst of the melee, at least one assailant hacked a 17-year-old with a machete, leaving the teen with gash on his left forearm, cops said.

Art crime

Crooks purloined a purse during an April 24 gallery opening for the acclaimed artist Posterboy.

The thieves grabbed the Coach bag — which contained $80, medication, IDs, and keys — from a back room in the Morgan Avenue art space 3rd Ward and escaped from the venue, which is near Stagg Street, between 7:30 pm and 10 pm.

Slash and grab

A knife-toting rogue slashed a 16-year-old during a botched April 16 stick up.

The blade-wielding baddie confronted the victim while he was waiting for the bus at Broadway and Graham Avenue at around 3:30 pm.

“Run your pockets,” the crook demanded as he attempted to snatch the victim’s T-Mobile Sidekick cellphone.

When the victim refused to hand over the device, the crook pulled out a knife and struck the teen across the left hand, leaving him with a gash that caused “bleeding and discomfort,” police said.

The victim was treated at Woodhull Hospital.

Photograft

An unscrupulous shutterbug snatched costly cameras and photo gear from an April 26 photo shoot.

The thief sneaked into the studio, which is on Berry Street between South Fourth and Fifth streets, during a shoot at around midnight. While the photographer was looking the other way, the crook jacked a Canon camera, a costly Canon lens, as well as a memory card and other equipment.

iPod touched

Cops locked up a hoodlum suspected of hijacking a 22-year-old’s iPod Touch as she walked home from the train on April 29.

The suspected mugger trailed the victim from the station at Broadway and Marcy Avenue to South Eighth Street and Driggs Avenue at around 10 pm, when he confronted the victim and asked her the time, police said.

After she responded, the crook grabbed the MP3 player — valued by cops at $250 — and fled.

But the thief didn’t get far. Police canvassed the neighborhood and locked up an 18-year-old suspect.

Knickerrobbers

Cops nabbed a 15-year-old suspected of taking part in a Knickerbocker Avenue mob mugging on April 28.

The posse of perps confronted its 19-year-old mark at Grattan Street at around 1:40 am and demanded that he hand over his belongings.

The victim forked over his Metrocard, ID, bankcard and $50, but cops quickly apprehended one of the alleged robbers.
