Police are on the hunt for a subway slashing suspect who allegedly attacked a man nodding off on board a Crown Heights train on Sunday.

According to law enforcement sources, the bloody incident occurred at around 8:40 a.m. on March 9 at the Utica Avenue and Eastern Parkway station on the 4 train.

The 31-year-old victim was sitting and sleeping on the train when the brazen brute came up to him and slashed him on the face with an unknown object, police said.

It was unclear if the perp said anything before committing the terrifying act. Meanwhile, paramedics brought the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County in stable condition. They did not know each other, authorities said.

After assaulting the man, the perp bailed, fleeing on foot to parts unknown before officers from the 77th Precinct and NYPD Transit District 32 arrived.

He was last seen wearing a brown hooded jacket, black pants and red and black sneakers.

No arrests have been made as of March 10, but the investigation remains ongoing.

So far this year, transit crime is down across New York City and in Brooklyn, which officials have attributed to an increased police presence on the city’s subways — especially overnight.
