There is no time like the present!
A Park Slope church hosted a Christmas party for local kids on Sunday, and each tot walked away with at least two gifts that they invariably unwrapped before the big day.
“Yeah they couldn’t wait,” said Agnelo Matias, who brought his grandchildren Isabel, Ronald, and Jacob.
The Church of Gethsemane’s annual holiday bash is ostensibly for children whose parents are or have been incarcerated, but the Eighth Avenue house of worship says it doesn’t make a habit of turning anyone away.
The event was well stocked with festive treats, including pizza, cookies, and hot chocolate to lap it down with.
Santa Claus also paid a special visit, chatting with the good little boys and girls before giving each their presents — mostly clothes and toys, according to church executive assistant Victoria Wolf.
But the kids didn’t have Santa all to themselves — some of the parents said they also snapped a selfie with Saint Nick.
“I definitely got a picture with Santa,” said Shelove Sainfleur, who brought her 7-year-old daughter Zariah to the event. “I put it on Snap Chat and Facebook.
