You can save the Earth and have an earth-shattering time doing it.
Everyone’s favorite sex-toy shop Babeland is giving away solar-powered vibrators to the first 25 shoppers at its Park Slope location on Earth Day, April 22. The sun-charged wands carry resonance with the spirit of the green holiday, the store’s co-founder said.
“Earth Day is a time when people are paying attention to eco-friendly practices, and it’s a good time to highlight the ways that we can be eco-sexy, too,” said Claire Cavanah.
The Solar Bullet vibrator, which usually runs for $34, comes hooked to a mini-solar panel that keeps the pleasure-machine buzzing for an hour after eight hours of soaking up rays. The orgasm-inducing gadgets help to reduce one’s carbon footprint because no batteries will end up in a landfill, according to Cavanah, and every toy’s package is printed to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council.
New owners of the hot rods should feel safe leaving them on windowsill, night stand, or anywhere that enjoys a solid amount of sunlight, since the Solar Bullet is so small and innocuous-looking that it does not necessarily scream “Sex toy!” to passersby, according to Cavanah.
“Although you might want to keep it in a private area for charging, it also isn’t immediately going to cause anyone to blush,” she said.
Babeland is throwing in packets of lube to customers who ride their bicycles to the pleasure emporium on Tuesday.
