Robbing the elderly
A good-for-nothing punk robbed an old lady on her front steps on Avenue P on May 23.
The 72-year-old victim told officers she was walking up to her house near E. Ninth Street at 1:30 pm when the man offered to help her carry her groceries up the stairs. However, he then pulled a knife on her and demanded her purse, according to the report. She started screaming, and the man fled on foot, police said.
Police said the suspect was wearing a red shirt at the time of the incident.
Thief of the grill
A jerk stole a man’s grill from his E. Eighth Street garage sometime between May 18 and 21.
The victim said he left his home near Avenue V to go away for the weekend on May 18 at 6:30 am. However, when he returned at 10:15 pm on May 21, he realized someone had broken into his garage and taken his cooking grill, authorities said.
Big haul
A nogoodnik stole diamonds and gold from a house on Quentin Road sometime between May 25 and 26.
The victim said he left his house near E. Fourth Street at 11:30 am, but when he returned the next day at 11:30 pm, he discovered someone had gone in through his side door and stolen diamond necklaces, rings, and earrings, as well as gold, from his house.
