Can’t get away
Police arrested three teens who ganged up on a man on South Oxford Street early on Oct. 27.
The troika of ruffians, aged 16 through 17, pounced on the 33-year-old victim from behind between DeKalb and Lafayette avenues at 1:10 am, choking him and pummeling him in the face while rummaging through his pockets.
During the fracas, one of the young thugs shouted, “Give me your stuff before you get popped.”
Police caught them when they tried to flee. The victim was treated by emergency workers at the 88th Precinct stationhouse on Classon Avenue and was released.
Subterranean blues
Muggers abandoned their attempt to rob a man on Lafayette Avenue on Oct. 27 when they couldn’t subdue him.
The two attackers followed the 21-year-old victim to the G-train station at Washington Avenue at 2:40 am. One of the hooligans started fighting with the innocent man in the stairwell while the other hood acted as a lookout. But the victim fought back, and the villains fled empty-handed.
Prodigal son
A deft thief stole a woman’s purse while she tried on clothing in a store inside an Atlantic Avenue mall on Oct. 29.
The 38-year-old woman entrusted her pocketbook with her son at 5:30 pm while she went to the fitting room, but the lad neglected his duties and ignored the bag, which was swiped by the thief.
The purse, minus $700 and a mobile phone, were found in a garbage can in the mall between Hanson Place and Atlantic Avenue.
Hop, skip and a punch
An agile intruder will have his day in court after bopping a college security guard in the face on Flatbush Avenue Extension on Nov. 1.
Police arrested a 22-year-old man who had been refused admittance to a university building near the corner of DeKalb Avenue at 1:10 am.
Unfazed, the nimble prowler climbed over a fence, where he encountered a night watchman. At that point, the hooligan socked the guard in the nose, but the rent-a-cop was able to detain him until police arrived.
Whack job
A man who clobbered another man at a Fulton Street construction site on Oct. 27 looks like he’s headed to jail.
Police busted a 43-year-old man who, for unknown reasons, struck a 60-year-old victim upside his noggin with a “metal object” at the work site at the corner of Washington Avenue at 9 am.
Car gone
A thief stole a car parked on Park Avenue on Oct. 27
The 28-year-old driver told police that he had parked his mother’s Acura between Hall Street and Washington Avenue at 4:30 am. When he returned at 9:30 pm, there was broken glass on the street and the vehicle was missing.
He told police his digital camera was in the car.
Take, not borrow
Muggers ambushed a teenage boy leaving the public library on Washington Avenue on Oct. 28 and got his iPod.
The 13-year-old victim told police he exited the lending library, between Lafayette and Greene avenues, at 6 pm and encountered two punks who took the popular digital music device.
Hands off
Police hauled away two juvenile delinquents who mugged a man on DeKalb Avenue on Oct. 29.
The alleged 14- and 15-year-old hooligans snatched a cellphone from a 23-year-old man at 6:20 pm near the corner of the Flatbush Avenue Extension, but police apprehended them after their victim identified the culprits.
