Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz presented citations to three heroes who sprang into action after the stabbing of Paul Robeson High School honors student Kyle Owens inside the school, 150 Albany Avenue.
Physical education teacher and basketball coach Todd Myles and nurse practitioner Vivian Gardner revived the student by performing CPR and chest compressions, and school safety agent Sheila Nesbit stopped the bleeding by placing pressure on the victim’s stab wounds.
The school also presented plaques to staff and students who assisted that day. Owens was hospitalized at Kings County Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
