Spitzer muckraker

William Rashbaum, the New York Times reporter who broke the story of the scandal involving former Gov. Eliot Spitzer, will speak at an upcoming breakfast lecture at Temple Beth Emeth v’Ohr Progressive Shaari Zedek.

The lecture, part of the reform synagogue’s monthly Sisterhood lecture series, will take place on Saturday, November 22 at 10 a.m., at 83 Marlborough Road in Victorian Flatbush.

Admission is $10 for the public ($5 for temple members).

In March, Rashbaum was part of the team of Times reporters who uncovered Spitzer’s involvement with a high-priced prostitution ring. That disclosure led to the governor’s resignation.

Temple Beth Emeth has featured a wide range of writers, historians and political observers at its monthly lecture series. Previous speakers have included veteran Village Voice reporter Tom Robbins; Fred Siegel, a Cooper Union professor and bestselling author of The Prince of the City: Giuliani, New York and the Genius of American Life; and Ron Schweiger, the official borough historian.
