Stand up and cheer for the end of summer camp

Bensonhurst

Children and staff closed out this year’s Summer Youth Program hosted by The Federation of Italian American Organizations at St. Athanasius with a spectacular program of song, dance, and creativity on Aug. 14.

The participants were encouraged to celebrate their individuality and embrace their various interests. Campers showed off their creative talents by designing T-shirts and other students put on the ritz and glitz with a performance of “Show Me What You Got.”

The staff, led by Nancy Sottille, Angela Collella and Orsola Bonilla, instilled in the campers healthy living habits and lifestyles, and encouraged each child to understand the importance of knowing oneself and acknowledging the value of each individuals’ talents.

Standing O and the Federation say “Thank you” to Msgr. David Cassato and principal Diane Competello for graciously opening up the doors and sharing the facility with the campers.
