Y stands for ‘Yippee!’
Take a dip in the pool at Greenpoint YMCA. Thanks to a generous grant from Investors Bank for $10,000, children will be able to continue in its after-school programs, including swimming.
The check was presented during the Spirit of Community Service Awards Dec. 7 gala that was held at Giando on the Water in Greenpoint.
Members of the bank included Greg DeFreitas-Lee, veep and manager Retail Market; Donata Jozefacka, assistant manager; Biagio Madaio, veep of Business Banking; Debbie Hootam, manager at the Greenpoint branch; Ana Oliveira, senior veep and regional manager; and Rad Suchowolak, relationship manager and a member of the Y’s board of directors.
The grant will go a long way to support all the Y’s programing, including sports and early childhood programs.
The event celebrated the Y’s 110th birthday.
