If pitching a tent on one of the planet’s most famous boardwalks for the summer wasn’t enough, now Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus has its very own street to toot its horn along – through September 7.
Days before its grand opening in Coney Island at West 21st Street and Surf Avenue, the ‘Greatest Show on Earth’ pumped up the pomp and the volume, co−naming the intersection – among the most traveled in the world − “Boom A Ring Boulevard,” complete with ‘Elephant Crossing’ and ‘Boom A Ring Way’ signs.
Circus performers and representatives joined Lynn Kelly, president of the Coney Island Development Corporation (CIDC), for a rollicking ceremony with music provided by Brooklyn’s own Soul Tigers Marching Band.
