A thief made off with a woman’s wallet while she was dining at a Flatbush Avenue sushi restaurant on Jan. 13.
The 48-year-old woman immediately canceled her credit cards, but discovered sometime after the 5 pm theft that the thief had already used them to buy transit cards near the restaurant, which is near Park Place.
Double crime
A thief stole a woman’s purse and used her identification card to locate and burglarize her home of nearly $1,700 in valuables on Jan. 12.
The double trouble began around 5 pm when the 40-year-old woman’s purse was snatched off the back of her chair while she was eating at a diner on Eastern Parkway near Underhill Avenue.
The woman found her purse in a nearby park — but her keys, cellphone and wallet were missing. When she returned home, she discovered thief had entered through the front door and made off with two laptops, a cellphone and several hundred dollars.
Petty cops
Two men were arrested on Jan. 13 after police discovered handcuffs and a police baton in their car during a traffic stop of a 2001 Impala, at 1:20 pm. The men had been stopped for failing to signal for a turn at Dean Street and Grand Avenue.
Granny beating
Two men mugged a 76-year-old woman for $540 as she made her way to a doctor’s appointment on Jan. 11.
The woman was near the Eastern Parkway Brooklyn Museum 3-train station at around noon when the men attacked from behind and held her down.
