A Williamsburg man lured a 27-year-old Wisconsin woman to New York through an online ad and repeatedly raped her during a nine-day imprisonment as his “sex slave,” cops said.

Officers arrested John Hopkins, 45, on Saturday night, when they stormed into his Humboldt Street apartment and discovered his alleged victim in a catatonic state and curled up in the fetal position on his mattress, shivering and naked.

The Midwestern woman met her suspected abuser through a Craigslist ad that she spotted several weeks ago when she was searching for a place to live in New York City.

Hopkins allegedly told her on the phone that if she cooked and cleaned for him, she could stay in his East Williamsburg apartment for free. He even offered to buy her a one-way plane ticket from Wisconsin to JFK Airport.

She accepted the deal and arrived on Feb. 4. But seconds after entering the apartment near Meserole Avenue, the victim discovered the reason for Hopkins’s largesse: Cops say he told her that she would have to be his slave — and over the next nine days, he allegedly beat the victim and forced her to have sex with him repeatedly.

The victim told law enforcement officials that Hopkins handcuffed her to a radiator, sometimes blindfolded her, putting gags in her mouth, and bound her hands above her head with a rope attached to a bolt that hung from the, a source said.

Hopkins let her leave the apartment several times throughout the week so she could report to her new job at a restaurant in the city — but the victim never called 911 or her family until Feb. 12.

On Saturday, she finally called her mother, who alerted police in Wisconsin who contacted Brooklyn detectives.

When police arrived, they found Hopkins and his victim as well as bolts on the ceiling, a rope on the floor, and a bag by the bed with a pair of handcuffs, a ball gag, a whip and several other sex toys, according to sources.

Hopkins was arrested and charged with rape, aggravated sexual abuse, and unlawful imprisonment and faces up to 25 years in prison. He is being held on $350,000 bail, according to prosecutors.

It is unclear whether Hopkins has an attorney at press time. Hopkins’s Williamsburg phone number has been disconnected.

The victim was sent to Woodhull Hospital where she has been treated for rape-related injuries.

Updated 5:23 pm, July 9, 2018: Oddly, an earlier version of this story was mislabeled as Greenpoint. The house of horrors is in Williamsburg. It was an editing mistake, we assure you.

Greenpoint from Greenpoint says:
This article isn't clear, how do you know the rapist is a "Greenpoint Man"? This apartment is in East Williamsburg.

Fact Checker from WB/GP says:
The address of the man was 194 Humboldt st off of Meserole St not Ave. That is not anywhere near Greenpoint. Aaron is a little "Short" on journalistic integrity.

that movie Black Snake Moan was not about a black man raping a white woman. It was about a black man helping a white women rid herself of her sluttish ways.

I can assure you Hopkins is white. I knew him a long time ago. Always thought he was sleazy, but never thought he was a psychopath. Goes to show you never really know anyone.

Roe from Queens says:
Ever occur to anyone that where the hell was this woman supposed to go. the rapist supposedly bought her the ticket, she was looking for a free apt so my guess didnt have much money to work with. She also was new here so my guess she did not know anyone in NY and did not know the area. I mean ok common sense go to the police or a shelter but she is from wisconsin and was being hurt maybe she was just that naive and scared, I mean how confused and scared does a person have to be to turn to their mother who is hundreds of miles away, she obviously was terrified and returned to a childlike condition turning to parents for help, instead of common sense and being in control of herself. People in shock do not think clearly and if she really was tortured then who can hold against her that she just couldnt think the obvious run away. People handle things differently some go into fight mode others are submissive.

jennifer from williamsburg says:
Sorry but what woman in her right mind would go to another state where a man offers her to live free if she cooks and cleans for him? Did she really think the man wouldn't expect more from her? Rape is 100% wrong but please smarten up and don't put yourself in these situations. If you don't have the money to come to NY, then stay where you are until you can afford it. That's just rediculous.

If He let her leave the house daily...why didn't she call the police? There is definetly something strange on her part too.
