Crafty crook

A freebooter stole an eight-pack of beer from a Ninth Street grocery store on Sept. 2.

A store employee told police that the rascal entered the store Fifth and Sixth avenues and grabbed the beer before running off at around 11:45 p.m.

Backpack burglar

Cops arrested a man for allegedly stealing a backpack on Carroll Street on Sept. 4.

The victim told police the perp grabbed his bag he left on outside the his home between Eight Avenue and Prospect Park West at around 5 p.m.

Police arrived on the scene and searched the suspect, who was found carrying a switchblade and several small packages of marijuana, and they arrested him on felony charges of weapons possession and grand larceny, according to police reports.

Shattering crime

A brute smashed a glass window of a Fifth Avenue Indian restaurant on Sept. 3.

A restaurant employee told police that the goon used a stick to break the glass on the front of the eatery between Union Street and Berkeley Place at around 12:20 p.m.

Bike baddie

A thief stole a bike from Seventh Street on Sept. 2.

The victim told police that he parked the bike momentarily between Sixth and Seventh avenues when the pilferer hopped on and peddled off around 2 p.m.


A driver left the scene after side-swiping another motorist on Flatbush Avenue on Sept. 5.

The victim told police that he was driving between Dean and Bergen streets at around 3:30 p.m., when the driver attempted to swerve around him and hit the side of his car, before callously speeding off.

Bad delivery

A filcher stole a package from a St. Johns Place home on Sept. 5.

The victim told police that the perp grabbed the package, containing $205 worth of goods, which was left outside his home between Sixth and Seventh avenues at around 5 p.m.

Bag o’ guns

Police recovered two abandoned guns on Third Avenue on Sept. 7.

A witness told police that he found a backpack containing a black firearm between Douglass and Butler streets at around 1:40 p.m.

Police arrived on the scene and recovered the handgun, according to police reports.
