Street closed for partying

Simple pleasures were on the menu during block party day along East 57th Street.

Residents of the block, between Clarendon and Beverley Roads, celebrated the sunshine and their neighborhood with games, chit-chat and plenty of potluck barbecues.

While the young rode bicycles and teamed up for sporting games and amusements along the traffic-free stretch, the young-at-heart prepared feasts and caught up with news in their neck of the woods.
