A rainbow of performances ignited the stage and a melting pot of traditional foods tickled the taste buds during a multicultural festival at the Christ Church After School and Youth Center, March 23.
Starry-eyed students hailed their diversity by taking visitors on a musical journey around the world — starring songs and dances from Russia, Africa, Mexico and other nations — as part of a showcase acquainting youngsters with the different traditions and customs in the communities served by the learning program on Ridge Boulevard between 72nd and 73rd streets.
“It’s a great event and way for us to celebrate the wonderful cultural richness that makes up our after school and community in which we live,” said program Director Victoria Hofmo.
The presentation was followed by a potluck feast prepared by parents.
