The Kings Highway branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, 2115 Ocean Avenue, will remain open for 30 consecutive Sundays starting September 13, Senator Carl Kruger announced.
“This is great news for students, families with working parents and for everyone who uses and loves the Kings Highway library,” said Kruger, chair of the Finance Committee.
“Sunday hours for the next few seven-and-a-half months will make a world of difference to the entire community that waited a long time for their beloved branch to reopen,” he said.
In June, the Kings Highway branch reopened after a four-year renovation that added 2,000 square feet to the library. The three-story branch, first opened in 1954, today shelves over 98,000 library items.
“I encourage everyone to take advantage and visit the Kings Highway library,” Kruger said.
