An 18-year-old Brighton Third Street resident was killed as a massive fire raged through his home on Friday.
Firefighters were called to the all-hands blaze inside the two-story brick building between Shore Parkway and Neptune Avenue at 12:10 pm — a fire so severe it scorched the building’s facade, horrified witnesses claimed.
Officials said the fire started on the first floor and was extinguished within 40 minutes — but not before firefighters pulled the 18-year-old and a 61-year-old woman out of the building and rushed them to Coney Island Hospital, where the teen died of his injuries. The female victim was listed in stable condition after treatment, police said.
The cause of the fire was not deemed suspicious, but was still under investigation by late Friday.
