An 18-year-old teen is recovering in the hospital after being stabbed in the eye during an attempted robbery in Flatlands Thursday night.

The man was reportedly stabbed on East 57th Street near the corner of Avenue K, possibly during an attempted carjacking. Police responded to the scene at about 9:30 pm, and transported the teen to Brookdale Hospital where he in critical but stable condition Friday morning, a department spokesperson said.

Cops arrested 28-year-old Ibna Pasha of Flatlands in connection with the incident. He is being charged with attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon, the spokesperson said.

Police said that a dispute occurred between the two but could not confirm the details.

A neighbor who witnessed the incident told Brooklyn Paper that the 18-year-old was attempting to carjack Pasha, and that the knife belonged to the teen. They described a struggle between the two during an attempted robbery that ended with the teen being stabbed in the eye.

Stabbings also occurred overnight at the Breukelen Houses in Canarsie, where a 30-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen, torso, and shoulder during a dispute, and in Crown Heights, where a dispute in front of a deli turned violent when a 36-year-old man was stabbed in the face and neck.
