he Waterfront Museum, located on a permanently moored barge in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, continues its CIRCUSundays in June, bringing the circus to this shorefront area of the borough every Sunday.
The shows feature professional performers from around the globe who will dazzle, mystify, and make you laugh.
Hosted by Artistic Director Karen E. Gersch, every Sunday features an entirely new show with acts of daring dexterity, comedy and awe-inspiring skill. There are two shows on each Sunday at 1 and 4 p.m.
On June 15 the star is Will Fern, comedy magician and interactive illusionist. As well as the Cirque Menagerie, a cacophony of delightful animal acts, life-sized and animated, featuring the inventive artistry of Therese Schorn and Kim Winslow. Also taking the spotlight is David Sharps, balancing Bravado that almost hurts to watch: 30 pound ceramic vases flung and caught on his head. Rounding out the show is Rudi Macaggi, funnyman and third generation acrobat and entertainer from Milan, Italy.
June 22 includes Luke Wilson; with typical British nonchalance and charm, this London-born manipulator controls cards and clubs with masterful and magical skill. Alice Shi offers elegance in the air while Carlo Pellegrini is guest ringmaster and master meddler. The Shinbone Alley Stilt Band is a beloved brass combo whose members play while on giant stilts. Also on the bill is Kenny Lindemann with his mesmerizing hand balancing and dynamic tumbling.
